Atal Pension Yojana Detail

Hello readers, today we present detailed information about the Atal Pension Scheme implemented by the Government of India. Atal Pension Yojana was implemented in the 2015-16 budget to provide protection to the poor, underprivileged and unorganized sector workers in the country. This scheme was earlier known as Swavalamban Yojana.

The Government of India runs many schemes under Jan-Dhan to Jansuraksha, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Vima Yojana (330), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Vima Yojana (12) etc. for the protection of the citizens of the country. The Atal Pension Scheme has been launched by the Central Government from June 1, 2015. To avail this scheme, premium has to be deposited in the bank / post account every month. For which the age of the beneficiary should be between 18 to 40 years. After paying regular premium, at the age of 60, you will start getting pension from 1000 to 5000.

Eligibility

Atal Pension Yojana has been implemented by the Government of India and eligibility has been determined for it.

  • Must be an Indian citizen to avail the benefits of this pension scheme.
  • Beneficiary age should be 18 to 40 years.
  • The beneficiary applying should have a bank or post savings account. That bank or post account should have Aadhaar card and mobile link.
  • Beneficiaries with government pension will not get the benefit of Atal Pension Scheme.

An account can be opened in a bank or post office under the Atal Pension Scheme. For which the beneficiary needs the following documents.

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Mobile number
  3. Birth certificate or proof of living certificate or other age
  4. Election card
  5. Address proof
  6. Passport size photo

Benefits

Beneficiaries under the Atal Pension Yojana benefit at the retirement age of 60 years. In addition the benefits of this scheme are given below.

  • The benefits of this scheme will be available only to Indian citizens.
  • Beneficiaries will get the benefit of Atal pension yojana after the age of 60 years.
  • According to the premium under the scheme, you will get a pension of Rs. 1000 to 5000 per month.
  • The amount of premium will be determined on the basis of age.
  • If an 18 year old beneficiary wants to get 5000 pension under this scheme, he has to deposit a premium of Rs.210 per month.
  • If a 40 year old beneficiary wants to get 5000 pension, he has to deposit Rs. 1454 / – per month as premium.

Conditions

The main conditions of Atal Pension Yojana are given below.

  • Beneficiaries joining the scheme must have a Saving Account of Bank or Post Department.
  • A birth certificate or living certificate or other age document is required to verify the age of the beneficiary between 18 and 40 years.
  • The premium installment cannot be paid in cash. Installments can be paid only by debiting from the savings account.
  • The amount of premium will be determined based on the age of the beneficiary and the amount of pension.
  • Beneficiaries with Saving Account are required to have a balance in their bank or post account equal to the minimum balance + premium amount.
  • If the premium is not paid within 6 months, the account will be frozen. If the premium is not paid for 12 months, the account will be deactivated and if the premium is not paid by the beneficiary for 24 months, the account will be closed.
  • The customer will be able to increase or decrease the amount of pension. But only those who can do it in April of that year and once a year.
  • In case of death of the beneficiary under PM Atal Pension Yojana, his Spouse will be entitled to the amount of pension fixed by the lifetime beneficiary. And if there is no Spouse, the nominee will be entitled to the amount of pension cops.
  • The amount of premium paid by the beneficiary under the Atal Pension Scheme is deductible under Section 80-C as per the Income Tax Act.

How much pension will you get after 60 years?

Under the scheme, on making a fixed contribution to the account every month, one will get a monthly pension of Rs. 1 thousand to 5 thousand after retirement. The government is guaranteeing a lifetime pension of Rs 5,000 a month or Rs 60,000 annually after the age of 60 on investing just Rs 1,239 every 6 months.
